Dealing with Data - JDBC

In this day and age it is probably fair to say that any application that you are developing must connect to some persistent data store.  Generally, this means that we are going to use a relational database for creating, reading, updating and deleting information - commonly abbreviated as CRUD.  In order to do any of these actions a connection needs to be created with a database which is detailed in the next section.
